Disc Screen

Disc Screen Machine
Solid Waste Fuel Sorting System

The disc screen is used for sorting inert waste and small-sized waste. The rotating disc plates agitate the waste on the screen, causing it to vibrate. Gaps between the discs allow separation according to the size and weight of the materials. In solid waste treatment, sorting is an essential step, and controlling the feed size often determines the overall sorting efficiency.

Features of the Disc Screen:

  1. Simple process, easy installation and maintenance, and convenient operation.

  2. Compact structure, reduced investment cost.

  3. Smooth and reliable operation with low power consumption.

  4. Equipped with a cleaning device inside the screen to prevent clogging.

Compared to traditional trommel screens, the disc screen has significantly higher capacity and sorting efficiency, producing screened oversize mainly consisting of combustible materials such as waste paper, plastics, and textiles, as well as small-sized combustible organics, and non-combustibles like sand, glass, and stones.

Applications:
Fucite Machinery’s disc screen technology is particularly suitable for sorting shredded municipal solid waste, industrial waste, and large-size refuse-derived fuel (RDF). It is also commonly used for waste rubber, waste paper, waste plastics, and other recyclable resource sorting and reuse processes. By adjusting the disc plate structure, the screen aperture can be set to sort waste materials smaller than the specified size.

This disc screen has a capacity up to three times greater than traditional trommel screens of the same volume and 1.5 times the screening efficiency. Depending on the width, each shaft can hold 15–20 disc plates. The number of shafts can be adjusted to meet the desired capacity. The motor drives all shafts to rotate synchronously. Unlike other screen types that easily clog when handling wet waste, the rotating disc plates prevent blockage.

Key Characteristics:

  1. Adjustable disc aperture size from 25–120 mm, customizable to requirements.

  2. Can fully replace trommel screens, with up to 4× capacity and 1.5× efficiency compared to traditional models.

  3. Variable frequency drive control for low energy consumption, high safety, and adjustable throughput.

  4. Special wear-resistant sprockets with chain-driven linkage and a unique tensioning chain design for exceptional stability.

  5. Modular design allows for flexible configuration, easy maintenance, and structural adjustment.

  6. Outperforms trommel screens, grizzly screens, and vibrating screens in both capacity and sorting efficiency.

  7. Suitable for various solid waste types, including municipal waste, construction and renovation debris, aged waste, and kitchen waste.
